Emergency services were called to Stanningley Road in Leeds, near to the junction with Armley Ridge Road, at about 15.15 GMT. A 62-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene and two other people were taken to hospital with minor injuries. West Yorkshire Police said a man, 57, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drugs. 99 Note the inital BBC report appears to have slightly the wrong location. Two other pedestrians were taken to hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the vehicle a man aged 57 years old was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drugs and remains in Police custody at this time.
